FUCK AI THINK FOR YOURSELF HERE'S SOME ART PHILOSOPHY

All sentiment is right; because sentiment has a reference to nothing beyond itself, and is always real, wherever a man is conscious of it. - David Hume Here is my proposal; we perform the various aesthetic activities of perception and investigation for the sake of our involvement in the activity of seeking correct judgements, rather than for the sake of actually having made correct judgements. - C. Thi Nguyen CJ The X: Visual Essay “Subjectivity in Art” https://youtu.be/GPrNWuppMcc?si=JFPqj168CYsr2P8E I’ve watched this video like five times, it’s a fantastic essay on how art critique works and where it fails depending on the critic’s philosophy. The essay covers A LOT. CJ is a very fast talker and jumps straight into their ideas from the start of the video. Beginning with a discussion of what their opinion of “review” versus “critique” is, and what they consider to be valid reasoning for negative critiques. They also talk about how “taste” works, citing David Hume and Anthony Fantano. ...

Silent Hill: What I wrote for my assignment on horror video games

This is what I wrote regarding horror video games, specifically related to the game Silent Hill (1999) and the book Silent Hill: The Terror Engine by Bernard Perron.      Throughout the entire game, we can see, hear, and infer many classic horror tropes.      Simple. To-the-point. Straight-forward. These are things that have never been said about art school.      In this essay, I will tell you exactly how to translate what the fuck was just said to you in your class, and how to remember it.     1. Bring a goddamn pen and paper. Bring a notebook that you can use for the same class over and over again and never lose. OR bring a laptop and make a specific document for each of your classes. NAME THEM THINGS YOU WON'T FORGET BECAUSE YOU WILL FORGET. If your computer can handle it, take notes in a Minecraft book. Because you can.     2. At first, your notes will look like chicken shit and you will feel like it's a waste of time. Ignore it and keep writing. Write down everything you think might be even remotely important, just in case it is.     3. Some people would tell you to write out your notes a second time and omit anything that you've deemed unimportant. Nuh-uh. Don't do that, ...
